I am an artist who has created murals, paintings, wall hangings, screens, and decorative finishes for homeowners and interior designers throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Working with the many different themes and subjects my clients request, I design artwork to harmonize with a complete environment. The soft hues, layered textures, and ornamental themes of the past are a strong inspiration for me, and I like to use this influences in a way that gently creates a mood of timelessness in my painting. Since moving to the Sierra Foothills, I have continued my studio work, developing favorite themes in the form of painted tapestries: unstretched canvases painted with acrylics, pastels, and dry pigments, made to hang freely from a wooden dowel or decorative tapestry rod. As part of my process, I cut my own stencils, using pressed leaves and flowers, my drawings, and historical design sources. When I work, garden, landscape, bird and animal themes emerge through layers of antiquing, glazing, and surface distressing, to reveal a lush and softly aged vision of a tranquil world.
